Read these, for some pretty useful tips on your site.

Originality-The BIG one. Some sites these days just dont cut it when it comes to originality. People steal peoples styles, ideas, site names and more. It doesnt help your site AT ALL copying someone else. People will see it as another site thats just another stick in the sand. So be original, come up with your own style, and people will be more interested, and you're site will be more succesful.

Jocking-For some reason, people like stealing other peoples' style sheets, credit buttons, layouts, thumbnails, sign, etc. Don't do that unless you have permission from the person you're taking it from. So sites have copyright laws to ALL of their content. Meaning that if you steal ANYTHING from their site, you can have legal action held against you. Look at it this way. Would you steal money from a bank and get away with it? NO. Its the SAME thing.

Myspace-Myspace is a GREAT way to get your site out there. The amount of people on that site at this very moment is over 241,073,447 acounts. Thats alot. Everyone wants that many friends. Just make sure you dont let your site die, that can happen by not updating frequently.
